Based in the Marlborough region of New Zealand, Dog Point was founded in 2002 by James Healy and Ivan Sutherland, who had worked a number of vintages together and put New Zealand wine, especially Sauvignon Blanc, on the world’s map. The duo later decided to make wines from their own vineyards and earned rapid acclaim for the intense, stylish wines that have emerged from the very first vintage. "Since debuting with 2002 vintage, Dog Point has been fashioning some of Marlborough's finest wines." said Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
Dog Point vineyards are also certified organic under the BioGro New Zealand Programme which is an independent certification process established to promote environmentally friendly, sustainable and responsible practices. These organic philosophies drive their approach to wine making and help ensure the vines are at their best for next year's harvest.
