Dear Wine Lover,
We are pleased to invite you to a wine tasting hosted by Mr. Sébastien Meunt, representative of Château Palmer, who will visit Hong Kong in March.
Located less than one kilometre south of Château Margaux, Château Palmer is one of the most prestigious names in the Margaux appellation. Today, the estate is co-owned by two Bordeaux families, Sichel and Mähler-Besse, who have been involved in Bordeaux wine trade for a long time. With the leadership of Thomas Duroux, who had previously worked in some top-notch estates around the world including Robert Mondavi and Ornellaia, the estate continues to be one of the most iconic wines from Bordeaux.
Château Palmer is characterised by its refined silkiness and velvety, with a uniquely high proportion of Merlot in the blends which is unusual in Médoc. Alter Ego is another expression of the terroir, which can be enjoyed young with its lush aromas and supple tannins. As a tribute to the great Bordeaux wines in the past, the property experiments a cross-regional wine called Historical XIXth Century Wine since 2004, which blends Margaux wine with a small proportion of Syrah from Northern Rhône. Very limited in production, the wine is extremely rare and highly sought-after by connoisseurs and wine collectors.
