Founded in the late 17th century by Jacques de Pichon, Baron of Longueville, Château Pichon Baron is located in the appellation of Pauillac neighboring Château Latour. In 1987, this Second Growth (2ème Cru Classé) property was acquired and rejuvenated with the important investments from AXA Millésimes, who also owns Disznókó, one of the top Tokaj’s wine estates producing extraordinary sweet wine.

Since 2000, Château Pichon Baron has firmly established itself as a leading “Super Second”, a term referring to the châteaux whose level of quality is very close to the First Growths. The wines are famously powerful and structured, made from the exceptional 73-hectare gravelly soil vineyards, including the historic plot "Butte de Pichon Baron", which was already in use since 1694.
