A wine score is the quickest, simplest way for a wine critic to communicate their opinion about the quality of a wine. Professional wine rating scores from a wide range of critics, for example Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator, are usually adjusted for the 100-point scale. A mean of these scores is presented for specific vintages of a wine, as well as across all vintages.

About The Wine
This was the first vintage that technical director Pierre-Olivier Clouet started to exclusively use 500-liter barrels for Quinault l'Enclos, decreasing the surface area to which the wines are exposed and, ultimately, the impact of the oak. The percentage of new oak is around 50%, and the blend is 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Quinault l'Enclos opens with expressive redcurrants, black raspberries and black cherries scents with savory suggestions of tapenade, dried herbs and tobacco plus a waft of cloves. Medium-bodied, the palate is fantastically bright and lively with loads of red fruit accents and a firm frame of grainy tannins, finishing on an earthy note. RP
A good marriage of food and wine ideally provides more pleasure than enjoying either one separately. As each of us have different sensitivities to various flavours and preferences, the definition of 'perfect pairing' varies, and this makes up the fun part of food and wine pairing.

A wine with soft, silky tannins and pretty fruit. Medium to full body with juicy fruit. Savory and flavorful. This is balanced and delicious. Very well done. Best wine in a long time from here. JS

While not performing nearly as well as I had hoped, the 2000 Quinault l’Enclos is, nevertheless, an outstanding, fully mature St.-Emilion. Raspberry, black currant, and floral characteristics are accompanied by striking elegance, but less richness and intensity than I noted seven years ago. This wine is evolving quickly, and needs to be consumed over the next 5-7 years. (2010 - 2017) RP
