A wine score is the quickest, simplest way for a wine critic to communicate their opinion about the quality of a wine. Professional wine rating scores from a wide range of critics, for example Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator, are usually adjusted for the 100-point scale. A mean of these scores is presented for specific vintages of a wine, as well as across all vintages.

Clos du Mont-Olivet Chateauneuf du Pape 2012
About The Wine
Solid, with a charcoal spine holding layers of plum sauce, steeped currant and licorice root together, while roasted alder and sandalwood notes fill in through the finish. Has a perfumy feel overall. Drink now through 2022. WS
A good marriage of food and wine ideally provides more pleasure than enjoying either one separately. As each of us have different sensitivities to various flavours and preferences, the definition of 'perfect pairing' varies, and this makes up the fun part of food and wine pairing.
You can think of the red wines of Chateauneuf as being like red Burgundies that are built on a bigger scale, and this wine really fits this description. Concentrated, subtle and silky, it gracefully flows over the palate feeling so much lighter than it really is. There's a hint of chocolate, but the red fruit aromas dominate right the way to the end of the very long finish. JS
Clos du Mont-Olivet Chateauneuf du Pape 2007
The brilliant 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition (made from 80% Grenache and the rest Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, and other assorted authorized varieties) is brilliant. Gorgeous notes reminiscent of an open-air Provencal fruit and vegetable market jump from the glass of this deep plum/purple-colored wine. The wine is expansive, savory, very fleshy, and totally disarming in its explosive aromatics and lush, opulent flavors. The better-than-average acids, due to the cool growing year, give it uplift and vibrancy, which nicely buttress the wine’s full-bodied power and substance. This is a beauty to drink over the next 15 or so years. RP
