A lovely new cuvee based around sites denied the premier cru appellation, the 2021 Pouilly-Fuisse Grands Terroirs Oublies wafts from the glass with aromas of orange oil, pear, nutmeg, beeswax and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and textural, with racy acids and a long, mineral finish, it's worth seeking out. RP
Its nose exudes an enchanting bouquet of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberry, plum, and black cherry, intertwined with spicy notes of black pepper, clove, and garrigue. A hint of violet and licorice adds a touch of complexity to this harmonious olfactory profile. The silky tannins delicately coat the mouth, allowing a range of intense flavors to express themselves. The dark fruits, prominent on the nose, are confirmed, accompanied by gentle spices and a light hint of cocoa.
