It was a very warm year, and the 2017 Cuesta Chica shows riper aromas and flavors. To try to compensate the character of the year, they used 60% full clusters for the fermentation. The stems might have provided for some more tannins and a touch of rusticity. There is a little more alcohol and surprisingly more acidity, but it doesn't feel warm at all. The elevage was in concrete and lasted for 17 months. This is a year with more Southern Rhône character.
