Young and currently edgy, this is a decadent, powerful pinot gris with ripe sun-dried pear and ginger flavours which coat the honeyed and weighty, full-bodied palate. Lees-enriched savoury flavours lend a touch of creaminess to the already luxurious texture. Noticeably off-dry before phenolics emerge on the finish to counter some of the sweetness, this is long and potentially complex once the structural elements of acidity and phenolics integrate. BC
On the nose, the wine leads with lemon oil, green apple, nashi pear, hints of ocean spray and brine. In the mouth, the wine is feather light and talc-y. It's a real joy for summer drinking. This sits nicely in the mouth. It's fleshy and soft. RP
