Picked on April 3rd, the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 Vanya Flower Day spent 107 days on skins in amphorae prior to being pressed and subsequently aged in French oak barrels, two-thirds new. While the color is a bit lighter than the Diana Madeline, the aroma boasts striking notes of violets, sage, bay leaf, black tea, star anise and cassis. Medium to full-bodied, it's tightly coiled yet silky, with plenty of fine-grained tannins on the long finish. RP
