Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon is redolent of stewed plums, black currant cordial and dried Mediterranean herbs with suggestions of tree bark and menthol. With a good line of medium to firm grainy tannins this medium-bodied wine also has refreshing acid to support the muscular black berry and herbal flavors, and a long length on the finish. Deep garnet/purple, the 2011 The Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon opens to earthy and meaty notes over a core of cassis, baked blackberries and mulberries plus tar, cloves, wild thyme and eucalyptus. Medium-bodied and showing good concentration and freshness, it is structured by grainy tannins and a long finish. RP
Beautiful cabernet. Fresh at heart but fully franked with flavour. Boysenberry, asphalt, blackcurrant and assorted green and dry herbs. Perfect set. Waves of fine, dry, not-to-be-messed-with tannin. Kicks up dust as it leaves the mouth. JH
Vibrant, aromatic and powerful. The nose is bursting with black berry, beetroot and alpine herbs. The palate is earthy and medium weight, with coarse tannin and spicy acidity. This wine is elegant, yet brutish, showing great balance and character. The tannins and acidity need time to soften.
