About The Wine
From a contour-planted vineyard redeveloped in the late 1950s and early 1960s (it was originally planted in the 1870s), the components of Seppeltsfield's 2020 The Great Terraced Vineyard Grenache were matured in only older puncheons and foudres. One parcel of the vineyard forms the bulk of the blend, with smaller proportions of other blocks/ferments used to build complexity. Bright cherries mark the nose, shot through with slightly herbal notions (the final blend incorporates approximately 20% whole bunches) and plenty of dried spices. Full-bodied and almost approachable. RP
