    About Professional Wine Ratings
A wine score is the quickest, simplest way for a wine critic to communicate their opinion about the quality of a wine. Professional wine rating scores from a wide range of critics, for example Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator, are usually adjusted for the 100-point scale. A mean of these scores is presented for specific vintages of a wine, as well as across all vintages.

    About The Wine
A great RunRig that has unapologetic richness and ripeness with a very fragrant viognier kick on the nose, which adds perfume to the aromas of blackberries, blood plums and tarry notes. The palate sweeps in big waves of fleshy fruit, carrying an impressive core of spice-wrapped sweet black fruits, The ribbon-like tannins deliver length in a smoothly charming mode. JS

    Food Match
A good marriage of food and wine ideally provides more pleasure than enjoying either one separately. As each of us have different sensitivities to various flavours and preferences, the definition of 'perfect pairing' varies, and this makes up the fun part of food and wine pairing.

The estate’s flagship cuvee is the virtually perfect 2003 Run Rig. Made from 8 separate Barossa vineyards (ranging in age from 94 to 158 years), it is primarily Shiraz with 4-5% co-fermented Viognier included in the blend. The wine was aged in French oak of which 60% is new. The sensational, inky/purple-tinged 2003 exhibits a stunningly sweet nose of blackberries, blueberries, litchi nuts, smoked meats, and a hint of apricots. Elegant yet super-powerful, rich, concentrated, and long, it is a tour de force in winemaking as well as a modern classic example of Barossa Shiraz. RP

A very fragrant bouquet attests to the influence of viognier, which also may be part of the reason why the palate does not show the high alcohol, and is simply supple and velvety, even showing a hint of spice. JH

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2013 RunRig has a tantalizingly exotic nose of cloves, fenugreek, star anise and cassia with a core of mulberries, baked blackberries and blueberry preserves plus hints of potpourri and dusty earth. The full-bodied palate is multilayered with tons of spices and berry preserves notes, supported by firm yet velvety tannins and finishing with incredible length and depth. This is a very impressive RunRig. RP

There's a floral note of dried lavender to the dried apricot and fresh black cherry flavors at the core, with accents of Earl Grey tea, sweet spices and cigar box. A touch of cedar and minerality lingers in the background, with polished tannins. Shiraz and Viognier. WS
