Dear Wine Lover,
We are pleased to invite you to a wine dinner hosted by Mr. Pablo Rodríguez, the 3rd generation family winemaker of Compañia de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez, who will visit Hong Kong in May.
Nicknamed as a “Driving Winemaker”, Telmo Rodríguez is one of the most influential Spanish winemakers known for hunting for historic vineyards from lesser-known wine regions around Spain. Grew up in a Rioja wine family, Telmo took the road less travelled by. He founded his own company in 1994 and started the adventure of reviving the forgotten old vines planted by the ancestors of the country, to redefine and rediscover the deep heritage and diversity of Spanish wines.
Located in Valdeorras wine region, Ladeiras do Xil is one of the most exciting projects of Telmo that expresses the potential of Galician wines made with indigenous grape varieties in extremely low-production from the best vineyard sites. Back into the family’s roots in Rioja, Remelluri is an iconic property that adds significant cultural and historical importance to the area. With the motto “The Future Lies in the Past”, the team restores old viticultural practices, rediscovering the region and protecting the traditions. YJAR is the first grand cru of Remelluri, sourced from a single well-established vineyard of 3.8 hectares with a high concentration of carbonates on a gentle slope, consistently offering very high quality year after year. It is the first Spanish wine ever to be listed on La Place de Bordeaux, setting itself on a par with all Bordeaux fine wines, as well as top labels from Tuscany and California.
