Dear Wine Lover,
We are pleased to invite you to a weekend tasting featuring 30 new arrivals of vintage 2023 from some of the best producers of Burgundy, including Domaine de la Vougeraie, Leflaive, and Méo-Camuzet.
Burgundy's 2023 vintage will be remembered as a year of abundance. It started off warm and dry, leading to ideal flowering environments. The summer was cooler than expected, while the overall growing conditions were helped by two heatwaves at the end of the season. The harvest was generous but heterogeneous – it is a “vignerons’ vintage” that the quality depends on the right decisions made in the vineyard and winery.
In general, the wines are charming and approachable, with a good balance of ripeness and freshness. The Pinot Noirs exhibit a wide range of styles, with the best reds fruit-driven and soft-tannined; and the whites more consistent across appellations, in a richer style with good acidity and structure.
