We are pleased to invite you to a sake tasting hosted by Mr. Takashi Iwai 岩井 隆, Director of NOGUCHI NAOHIKO SAKE INSTITUTE 農口尚彦研究所, who will visit Hong Kong in August.

Hailed as “the god of sake brewing”, Mr. Naohiko Noguchi has devoted his career as a toji (杜氏, master brewer) from the young age of 28, brewing sake for over 70 years with the desire to “make good sake and make people happy”. He is a key figure in the revival of the nearly lost yamahai (山廃) brewing method and is regarded as one of the “Four Guardians of Heaven” by the Noto Toji Guild.

Settled in the mountain village Kanagaso in Ishikawa Prefecture (石川県), Mr. Naohiko Noguchi founded his namesake brewery in 2017 with the vision of passing his sake-brewing skills, spirit, and philosophy to a new generation of brewers. Today, the institute is managed by Mr. Takashi Iwai, the right-hand man of the master, who began working at a sake brewery at the age of 24, gaining experience in sake brewing training and sales both domestically and internationally.
