Despite the old vines, the flatter site services a more salubrious, plusher style than the mineral-infusion of those higher up in the likes of Clarendon and Blewitt Springs. Flavors of dark cherry, licorice root, pomegranate and kirsch. Soft tannins, plush and cuddly, are embedded into the fray, with a peppery whole-bunch note trailing long. JS
