Wonderful aromas of dried orange, blackcurrant and crushed stone follow through to a full body with beautifully polished tannins that are composed and fine. Lots of subtle and complex character on the finish. Extremely well done here. JS

Prieure Lichine Margaux 4eme Cru 2014
The 2014 Prieure-Lichine has a reserved, slightly tertiary/gravel-tinged bouquet that takes time to develop the fruit behind it. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a gentle grip in the mouth, but attenuating slightly towards the finish that just needs to develop a little more frisson. Probably best suited for short-term drinking rather than long-term, but you never know. RP

Typically, the quintessential feminine side of Margaux is represented by Prieure-Lichine-s 2011. Floral, raspberry, black cherry and currant notes intermixed with spice box are present in this deep ruby/purple-colored effort. The richness builds incrementally and becomes more impressive than it initially seems. A well-made, supple-textured, delicious 2011, it is an undeniable success for the vintage. Enjoy it over the next 15+ years. RP
