Clos Du Marquis
Located in Saint-Julien, Clos du Marquis is a historical brand by the Domaines Delon, which also owns Chateaux Leoville Las Cases and Potensac. It is at the very origin a separate vineyard whose first vintage was released in 1902.
Most of its vines stretch over about 45 hectares with an average age of 30 years. The presence of organic matter in the top soil, due to the presence of a forest on this land in the past, brings a typical Saint-Julien style to the Clos du Marquis: structure, complexity, harmony, distinction and ageing potential.
In this episode of «Confidences by Watson’s Wine #2», chef Samuel LEE and head sommelier Maxime VERDIER at Shangri-La Paris has paired deep fried diced chicken with Sichuanese dried chili with Clos du Marquis Saint Julien 2003.
