Shiraz is undoubtedly the most representative wine grape variety in Australia. It was one of the original varieties brought into the land in 1832 by James Busby, who is recognised as the father of Australian wine. Today, the country is home to the world’s oldest Shiraz vines still in production, creating exceptionally concentrated and layered examples vintage by vintage.
On 5 Dec (Sat), we will gather a dozen of Shiraz producers from Australia in different regions, including the classic duo Barossa and McLaren Vale, also the exciting Clare Valley and cool Adelaide Hills, to discuss this Australia’s most widely planted variety expressed in a complex array of styles for this festive season.
