Dear Wine Lover,
We are pleased to invite you to a Brunello wine dinner hosted by Mr. Santiago Marone Cinzano, the 11th generation winemaker from the family manages Col d'Orcia, who will visit Hong Kong in May.
With a rich winemaking history dating back to the early 20th century, Col d'Orcia is a genuinely storied Brunello di Montalcino estate which greatly contributed to the success of modern-day Brunello. The Cinzano family, who bought the estate in 1973, manages it with meticulous attention to details in the vineyards, making it the largest organic wine producing farm in the whole of Tuscany.
In the vintage 2019, Santiago decided to produce a revolutionary Brunello by pioneering an unorthodox viticultural philosophy. With the help from enologist Dr. Donato Lanati of Giacomo Conterno and Giuseppe Mascarello fame, Conti Marone Cinzano Lot.1 was born as a single-vineyard wine, but the plot changes every year. It is a micro-selection of the crème de la crème of the harvest – the best bunches from the best single parcel of the vintage. It is age-worthy yet approachable, with tannins that are extremely integrated, extremely silky, and extremely round – a wine that makes Brunello di Montalcino great again.
