This is good gear. Of place. Lacking pretence. Mid-weighted of feel. A mellifluous roll across the mouth, laden with iodine, blue fruit allusions, licorice all sorts, cloves and a fleck of menthol, yet nothing obtuse or drying. The tannins evince a gentle gritty tension, marked by detail and admirable precision, while promoting a sinuous drive to a long finish. Wonderful tannins here. Nourishing and delicious. JS
