Dark and winey in profile, with steeped plum, blackberry and black currant fruit that is youthfully coiled up, laced with bramble, apple wood and anise notes. Offers a compact finish but the energy is there. WS
This is poised and elegant with notes of bitter chocolate, crushed walnuts, black peppercorns, blackberries and blackcurrants. It’s medium-bodied with silky tannins and layers of fresh black fruit. Classy. JS

A lovely, silky wine with plenty of layers of ripe tannins and subtle fruit. Medium-bodied. Fresh finish. Well done. Good buy. Best after 2003. WS

A little backward, lacking a sense of lift and perfume. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline entry, the tannins harder than Saint Pierre with a simple, earthy finish that needs more fruit intensity.
