Mellow and rounded on the nose with a dry smokiness mixed with raisin sweetness. The first sip reveals a velvety mouth-feel, then an explosion of flavour of hazelnuts, honey, rose petals, sherry and oranges. Notes of kumquats, wispy aromatic smoke, sandalwood, tobacco, and dark chocolate appear in subsequent sips, which progresses into a rich and long finish of smoke and pepper then ending with a glorious touch of spice.
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is inspired by Alexander Walker’s 1867 Old Highland Whisky. It was at the forefront of an era when fewer casks were available and quality cask selection was in its infancy.
