The single-vineyard 2015 Finca Cascorrales shows the power and ripeness of the year—ripe but abundant and chalky tannins and riper fruit than the 2016 that I tasted next to it. This matured in 225-liter oak barrels for two winters, and there is some influence from the oak in the aromas and flavors. RP
2018 was a cooler year with a longer cycle and a slow and thorough ripening of the grapes, which resulted in a powerful wine with a full body, abundant and slightly grainy tannins and an earthy sensation. A classical Ribera for the long haul. RP
